However, Winter Olympic Games bosses sweat over no-snow ; with the Winter Olympics set to begin in British Columbia in about three weeks, Canadian Olympic organisers have run into an unusual problem – a lack of snow.
Vancouver is basking in spring-like weather with mild 12 degree Celsius temperatures and no snow in the forecast.
The Olympic venue at Cypress Mountain is the site of the snowboarding and freestyle ski events, but there are worries about fog and visibility.
Organizers say there is no time to use snow-making equipment to make enough of the white stuff, so they may have to haul it in; tThey say they are confident they will be able to bring in enough by truck, moving it down the mountain, or even using helicopters (Abbott and Joyce have placed extra ice-trays in their freezers) and another back-up plan is in place with thousands of cubic yards of snow stockpiled under tarpaulins since November for just such an eventuality.
The tough job now is to keep it all from melting.

It seems that Abbott has displayed very bad planning. He should have been making ice for months!
However he was worried that the KRudd tax on everything would impact on his abilitu to make enough ice so in the end t would be cheaper to import it from China.

Spending 46 Billion on broadband is a total waste of money & resources. The US has switched over to wireless. The standard connection in the US is CHEAP high speed wirelss, generally packaged to include unlimited mobile calls, home phone, line rental & sometimes computer/printer hire, for something like $50 a month. Cable is too expensive & too invasive. Anything that RUDD attempts to instigate is a complete stuffup and financial disaster. Trust Labor with another 46 BILLION, to line whose pockets? We’ve seem the BER & Insulation fiascos and that should kill any further dumbass Labor iniatives~!
