Energy Efficiency

As we already know, Japan has been in a depression for some 10 years now, but its about to get worse … why ? Because, the same process they tried to kick start their economy – by pouring billions of Yen into it – is now being tried by the other equally bright people; however, Japan is going to slide further into an abyss as their many streams of income dry up and Uncle Sam has sent Hillary over to do to Japan and China as what her hubby did for the many willing and not so willing interns ….

An economics student approaches his professor and says ‘I don’t understand this stimulus bill, can you explain it to me ?’ The professor replies ‘I
don’t have any time to explain it at my office, but come over to my house on Saturday and help me with my weekend project, I’ll be glad to explain it to you’.

The student shows up at the professor’s house and the professor states the weekend project involves his backyard pool which they both go to; the professor hands the student a bucket and demonstrating with his own bucket, he goes over to the deep end and fills the bucket with as much water as he and goes to the shallow end and dumps the water from the bucket into it. The student was naturally confused, but did as he was told; and then finally asks ‘why are we doing this? and the professor matter-of-factly states that he is ‘trying to make the shallow end much deeper’.

The student didn’t think the economics professor was serious, but figured that he would find out the real story soon enough; however, after the 6th trip between the shallow end and the deep end, the student began to become worried that his economics professor had gone mad and he says ‘all we’re doing is wasting valuable time and effort on unproductive pursuits; even worse, when this process is all over, everything will be at the same level it was before, so all you’ll really have accomplished is the destruction of what could have been truly productive action’ ….

The professor takes the bucket fro his student and says ‘congratulations, you now understand the stimulus bill’ plan.
